McCrabby got a letter a week ago from a hiring manager, who took McCrabby to task for only pointing out the applicants' points-of-view when it came to the interview and the follow-up process.

He went on to say that only one of the 20 ever followed up in any way, and that if people want jobs, they need to be more professional, follow up better, and pursue what they want. "It's their job" to go get the job, he stated.
McCrabby admitted to the bias in this blog, since we work closely with job-seekers, and less-so with hiring managers, and the entire email was published at this blog (see: Hiring Mgr Scolding). McCrabby went on to offer that if he would reveal to McCrabby his identity (which he has not done yet), McCrabby would put him in touch with several qualified motivated job-applicants, some of which had gone through McCrabby's GET TO WORKshops. Some of these people have taken temp jobs or contract jobs and are still searching for the "right" job.
McCrabby got an email the next day, stating that the hiring manager was impressed that McCrabby had run workshops and that he would put his personnel manager in touch with McCrabby right away so that names could be shared and referrals made.

Job applicants have a tough road and when they see you're hiring, many (maybe not all) are willing to do what it takes to get to their goals. But, if you don't follow through, especially after chastising applicants for not following through, what expectations can they have?
McCrabby is disappointed. Let's get the ball rolling Mr. Hiring Manager.. Let's hire someone. How 'bout today??
