Track your job search - new tool announced

Last week, McCrabby met a software developer, who has created a tool to help job seekers track their search for work, and streamline the data required to do so.

David Sickmiller, of Jackson Michigan, has a product called 44SCORE, a new service to help job-seekers organize, coordinate, and track their application and submission process of their job search.

David cites three ways that his product can help job-searchers stay on track:
  1. Save a record of submitted job applications
  2. Keep notes on networking conversations and emails throughout the job-search
  3. Set reminders for upcoming to-dos in the process
For those who have used Salesforce CRM, David notes that 44score is a similar service but tailored specifically for job-seekers.

For example, after emailing a resume, users are prompted to schedule a follow-up.  The application history is key for getting up to speed when a recruiter calls back and the original posting is nowhere to be found.  Also, keeping records is a requirement for most state unemployment compensation, and this product simplifies that effort.

Perhaps the most innovative feature of 44score, is a browser toolbar that is installed on the job-searcher's computer.  In addition to providing notification about to-do deadlines, it is integrated with online application forms, meaning that as an applicant goes through a job application on an employer website, the toolbar picks up entry details such as the job title and which resume was submitted.  When finished with an application, the toolbar allows an automatic copy of the details to be stored -- saving the effort of retyping everything.

The toolbar also has the capability to integrate with sites like Craigs-list where most applications are via email -- job-seekers can re-use previous messages, the emails are saved to their history, and users can easily schedule follow-ups.

David asks for no money for his tool, as long as job-seekers are seeking work.  However, after landing a job, a placement fee is due, based upon the type of employment sought.

David notes that since the fee is tailored, less for internships, more for salary positions, the benefit of this pricing model is that it ensures that a common goal is achieved between David's company and the job-seeker -- getting the next job as soon as possible.

When David was asked for his pricing model, he provided the following:
The placement fees are as follows:
  • Salary Position                $39.95
  • Professional Contract      $39.95
  • Hourly Position                $19.95
  • Internship                         $4.95
There is also a Happiness Guarantee...
David can be reached through his website, at www.44score.com, and is available through LinkedIn.  Tell him McCrabby sent you.  Take a look at his offering -- it may provide you a tool you need to get you over the job-search hump.

Good luck on your job search.
