Dear Hiring Mgr: You lost my resume??

Dear McCrabby...

I loved the letters from Will E. Wurkornot, about his rejection for a job, and about being ignored.  In fact, thanks for taking my call, McCrabby -- it was good to talk with you about job-searching.   I also left a couple of comments on your posts, about how they really related to my dealings with HR departments.  I wondered if he ever wrote one about being forgotten.

I sent in a resume three times, to the same company, and each time I followed up, they couldn't find a record of it, so I sent it again.  Do you think this is common, or are they giving me a line, or what??

Job-searching is hard work; and I'm willing to work hard, but it doesn't seem I should have to repeat the work 2-3 times, does it??

I'm sure that resume is in here.....   somewhere

    Dear Triple-R,

Is it common??  Probably.  Are they giving you a line?  Probably.  You're right in your assessment that finding a job is a hard job, and there are redundancies in it.  But, you don't have to put up with it.  As it turns out, Will did write another letter, and he shared it with McCrabby.  Now, it  will be shared with you.

Good luck on your job search.

    TO:  Human Resources
    Attn:  Mr. Stu Peddidee
You must have lost my resume; I sent it last March, and I haven't heard from you yet.  It's July now.  At first, I thought maybe you were ignoring me (Dear Hiring Mgr: Thanks for Ignoring Me), but I know you would have called me, had you received it, because it was really well done, I paid $500 to get it just right, and I mailed it in a bright red envelope.  My references were impeccable, and I was the perfect fit for the job you described in your CareerBuilder advertisement.
Then, I thought maybe you didn't want to hire me (Dear Hiring Mgr: I Reject You), but that doesn't seem plausible, since I am perfect for the job.    I'm sure my age, or my race, or my sex didn't have an adverse impact upon you, because I know those things don't play a part in job selection in 2011.  I'm sure my handicap wasn't a factor.  And, my lack of a college education certainly should not matter, since I have lots and lots of experience.  My weight is up a little, but I'm just as active as I was in the 70's, so you can be assured of my vitality (a trait you mentioned as "needed" in your ad).    So, I can only assume you lost my resume.
So, Stu (may I call you Stu?),  I am re-attaching my resume and I'm sending it in a shoe-box, enclosed with a small clock to make sure your mail-room notices it.  And, I'm including a dozen cookies my wife made.  I hope you like macadamia nuts.
I know you are getting a ton of resumes, but mine is only two pages, so you can stick the rest in the recycling container. It's not often I tell an employer to stick anything,  but think of the filing space you'll free up, and consider the time savings of not having to look at those inferior resumes; I'm already starting to cost-justify myself... and you get cookies.
I'm a sales and marketing guy; I sell Business-to-Business; I'm good at it.  I can increase your revenues.   I did it for my last company, and the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that, and, and, and...  However, if you can't find my resume, how are we going to get together?
I look forward to talking with you once you get this new copy.
Stu, call me anytime.  I'm at 313/266-871
