On April 1, this blog featured a post for April Fools Day, announcing some incredibly unbelievable changes to unemployment compensation, while including some inane quotes attributed to politicians (OK, those may have been believable). This was the post: FOOLS
Most readers appreciated a little humor on April 1st, but two were upset about that approach in this column. So, in response to those two readers, I'd like to suggest:
- Read this blog for the intent for which it's intended; much of it is satire or humor (sometimes we think we're funny when you don't), and while we do write about job-searching, we also write about common sense topics and we try to mix in some less-than-serious topics (we think it's important to maintain a sense of humor in tough times)
- Or, don't read this blog if it's upsetting to you; we don't intend to upset people, but we want to entertain, to provoke thought, to incite discussion and interaction, and maybe offer a piece of advice that may be valuable from time to time
- Continue to feel free to comment; we like comments (even when they're critical), and feel free to reach out if there is ANYTHING McCrabby can offer in the way of advice, a friendly shoulder, or a listening ear
- Let us know if there is a topic you'd like to see discussed; we get great ideas from our readers and friends (in fact, most of our ideas aren't original, although our April Fools column was -- sorry,,,)
Thanks for tuning in, and thanks for your input. We're going to keep writing on job-search topics, on common sense issues, and on rants that bother us. We hope you'll keep watching.
